2026 People’s Choice Categories

​

BED: All quilts made to be put on a bed or crib. Based on outside measurements.

Measure first before selecting size category.

  • Large (minimum 84" wide x minimum 88" long)

  • Medium (65" to 84" wide x minimum 87" long)

  • Small (28" to 64" wide x minimum 86" long)​​

WALL: Quilt must be designed to be hung, not put on bed. May have embellishments, hand- painting, and other delicate elements.

  • Large (greater than 48" wide)

  • Medium (30"- 48" wide)

  • Small includes miniatures (less than 30" wide)

ART: Original design only. No size restriction. No kits or patterns.

* Rule Exception: You may enter two (2) Art Quilts as part of your 4 total entries.

OTHER: Must be quilted. Includes quilted garments, table runners, placemats, quilted bags, etc.

 

2026 Guild Members’ Excellence Judging Criteria

 

DESIGN and COLOR: Visually appealing. Effective use of fabric, borders and quilting design. No kits (kits must be identified so not to be judged for this category).

​

PIECING: Precise junctions & points, smooth curves, secure & invisible stitching.

​

APPLIQUE: Precise points and corners, smooth edges and curves. Secure stitching, nondistracting thread, no under fabric showing through.

MACHINE EMBROIDERY

 

QUILTING: Even stitches that go through all layers. Invisible starts and stops. No marking lines

show. Quilting adequate to secure batting. Quilting enhances the piecing or appliqué design.
